Ailytics, founded in 2021 by Tan Wei Zhuang and Prateek Manocha, is a Singapore-based company dedicated to enhancing workplace safety across heavy industries through AI-driven visual analytics. By harnessing insights from existing camera infrastructure, Ailytics helps organisations create safer, smarter worksites.
With over 240 deployments across 8 countries, Ailytics is rapidly scaling to meet growing demand. Before joining BEAMP, the team faced the challenge of balancing operational priorities with the need to advance R&D. BEAMP provided the crucial support needed to bridge this gap, enabling Ailytics to co-develop and pilot innovative safety solutions in real-world environments.
Tiong Seng Contractors (Pte) Ltd, a pioneer in Singapore’s construction and civil engineering sector since 1959, is renowned for delivering large-scale projects and driving innovation through advanced technologies and sustainable practices.
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance productivity and efficiency on-site, Tiong Seng is exploring AI-based video analytics solutions that leverage footage from existing or new CCTVs. These intelligent systems aim to automate site monitoring, reduce the need for frequent manual checks, and provide real-time alerts on anomalies. Priority areas include stage completion tracking, floor cycle monitoring, and insights into manpower, machinery, logistics, and material handling - all critical to It could involve the installation of new surveillance tools if it can boost the accuracy of the models in a cost-effective manner.
Traditional construction progress monitoring relies heavily on manual inspections, reporting, and interpretation by multiple stakeholders - leading to inconsistencies and delays in decision-making. While CCTV systems are common on-site, their potential is limited by the need for manual monitoring.
Through BEAMP, Ailytics conducted R&D and a proof of concept (POC) to address this challenge, developing an AI-powered video analytics solution that:
- Automatically tracks reinforced concrete activities (e.g. rebar, formwork, concreting, removal) with >85% accuracy
- Compares actual vs. planned progress to highlight delays
- Sends real-time alerts for swift action
- Visualises data through clear dashboards and daily reports
BEAMP provided a structured platform with clear goals, dedicated resources, and funding, helping us focus our efforts effectively. The programme enabled us to deeply understand not only the CSO’s challenges but also the technical limitations of our solution; giving us clarity on its commercial viability.
